Grand Oaks Resort in Weirsdale, Fl...is absolute Heaven!!!! I hv NEVER seen a more beautifully maintained property, just pristine in every direction you looked, and there are a lot of directions to look, because it is also extremely large...but totally easy to get in, het around, they even hv golf carts tht will drive you around if youd rather not walk, but its so beautiful honestly you dont mind walking, there's so many different arenas, pastures, a concrete pathway tht goes around the entire place, a gigantic covered areana tht had 15 horses in it doing diff things and there was plenty of room, theres diff areas for the jumping hunter jumper horses, buggy riding area, a whole museum about diff. Buggy and sport, theres rental houses and cottages just all over the far edges of the property, some with there very own barns out bck so yiu can bring your horses with you, they hv EVERYTHING, it was clean, everyone is friendly, restaurant on site, AMAZING!!!!

The Grand Oaks Resort is the only equestrian based resort I have ever seen. It is designed for horse lovers to be able to bring their horses and carriages and ride around the grounds. There are equestrian events being held all the time. I was lucky to get to see the founder and owner, Gloria Austin, give a presentation. She was interviewed by Tim Totten of the Living Legends series. It took place inside the Carriage Museum at Grand Oaks. It's a beautiful place with nearly 200 carriages on display. Most notably is the one formerly owned by the Emperor of Austria and is the only one of its kind that is privately owned. The museum is well worth a visit.

Looking for a nice quiet afternoon, strolling the grounds at Grand Oaks is so relaxing. Watching the various horses trotting by or in their stalls, people playing croquet in the grass, brings you back to a simpler way of life. To top it off the Bistro is magnificent place to eat lunch, or dinner, with their assortment of different choices to fit just about anyone's palate.

This facility is NOT permanently closed, but had merely had a name change. This is a wonderful unique museum with an AMAZING collection of coaches and horse drawn vehicles. The resort offers lovely on-site accommodations with small cottages available for rent, some with attached barns and fenced years. Pet and family friendly, The Grand Oaks is a gem!

My husband and I stopped in for drinks the day before or wedding anniversary celebrating 6 years. it was a very pleasant place, staff was friendly. I will definitely pay another visit here and recommend it to my friends.
